Every day, new communication channels spring up like mushrooms; many of them help companies to reach their customers and consumers, and all of them use offline, online and mobile devices. The number of “touchpoints” where customers come into contact with a product or service along the so-called “Customer Journey” grows continuously and shows no sign of slowing down.

Interestingly the forecasted death of print publishing, which has been promulgated by “experts” for several years now, seems to be as accurate as most weather predictions. In the last 12 months, there has been a noticeable increase in requirements from our enterprise customers relating to print. Is print publishing re-emerging as an important component of a multichannel strategy? Of course, print is changing: It will become more individualized, more goal-oriented, more emotional and more editorial. But traditional publishing remains an outstanding impulse medium, and new kinds of publications are being developed and refined daily. In addition, publications will rely more and more on digital devices such as tablets, kiosks and smartphones, as a complement to their traditional print delivery channels.

However, existing print publishing is too often stuck in a time warp of legacy processes, cumbersome workflows, and an endless cycle of copy and paste from backend data sources—out of the reach of the creative team that depends on the data.  Publication cycles are too long and they struggle to keep pace with modern marketing requirements. Today’s print publications need to be developed, targeted and personalized like their digital counterparts.  In order to meet these demands, creative and marketing teams must be able to access the data contained in PIM, DAM, ERP and other classic backend systems, and given the ability to quickly produce these publications. Priint Suite 4 was developed with these requirements in mind—a next generation platform to meet the needs of modern marketing departments. From catalogs, flyers, “magalogs” and product spec sheets to html5 and tablet apps, the priint platform can connect to virtually any data source, or multiple sources, to give the creative team the flexibility and responsiveness to produce almost any kind of publication.

Using a “Touchpoint Travel Map”, visitors to the priint Americas booth at GRAPH EXPO can explore via a simple “subway” style map how print publications interact with so many of these modern day touchpoints, as well as how to create added value in the multichannel communication strategy of the modern organization. Show visitors will get an idea of how they can approach the challenge of navigating an increasing number of communication channels, and how to recognize and explain the importance of print in the "Customer Journey".

GRAPH EXPO is the largest industry tradeshow in the Americas for 2016, and priint Americas is proud to be exhibiting at booth number 823 – please come by and see us!
